Problems Preventing the Use of your Memory Card:

A memory card failure can occur for several reasons. When a memory card has a failure it is recommended to have the card diagnosed by a professional data recovery company. Typical memory cards failures include card not getting recognised in a digital camera or camcorder, card not getting recognised when connected to a computer, card is getting recognised but no files on card, card as formatted by accident, files were deleted by accident, card is physically broke. We have 14 years experience of recovering from damaged memory cards. Below is common card failures we receive in for data recovery:

Physical Damage to your Memory Card:

When a card is not getting recognised by your camera, camcorder or any device including a PC or Mac then it will probably have a physical fault. When a memory card has a physical problem the memory chips will need to be unsoldered from the card electronic board and inserted into a specialised chip reader to read the data. We are one of only a few companies within the UK that can unsolder and read the data from these type of memory cards. We have a high recovery success rate.

Memory Card Damage Caused by Electronic or Magnetic Interference:

When a memory card has an electronic fault it means the electronic board that stores the memory chips has blown some of the circuits on the board. We have specialised equipment to recover data from the chips on the damaged board. Contact us today to speak to one of our memory card data recovery experts.

Inadvertent Deletion of Memory Card Data:

Memory cards often get formatted by mistake either within the device that is used to record the files such as a camera or camcorder or when they are connected to a computer. When this happens the memory card will be blank. We have a recovery solution to get back 100% of your data when this happens.

Your Operating System and its Inability to Recognise your Memory Card:

When a memory card is freezing your PC or Mac or making your computer run slowly it normally means it is degrading and is the 1st signs that the card will fail. At this stage it is recommended to copy of your data from the card. If you find yourself in the unlucky situation that you cannot copy the data from the card then contact us today as we can imaged and process all data on card for a 100% recovery.

We Can Restore Your Images Using Camera Media Recovery

I have a Sony 64GB memory card which I use with a digital camera. I recently use the camera to take photographs of a wedding, and then went to download the pictures onto my computer. However, when I linked the camera to the PC, and tried to view the files, the computer said that it could not access the drive, and that it could not view the files inside. I am unable to see the card in the computer, because the PC won’t read the drive, and it won’t download any of the pictures. I have made sure that the card is unlocked, and have tried it with the slide in both positions, to no success. Tech support for the card has said that it is blocked and needs to be returned. I am willing to do that, but really want to get the wedding pictures off of the card before I send it back. These pictures are really important to me, and to my family, and I need to be able to get them recovered.

I have a Sony 64GB SDXC memory card inside an Olympus camera, which contains a number of important photographs recording a family holiday. I have suddenly discovered that the card is not working. The camera shows an error message, and is refusing to save photographs to the card, and when I attach the camera to my PC, the computer also will not recognise the card. I have tried to put it into a separate card reader, using the USB port, but it won’t mount up at all, and is not even searched by the reader. Both act as though the card is not there. I have tried a number of recovery programs, including RescuePRO, but they are not successful, and can only recover a few photographs before the downloader times out. I can download maybe 5 pictures, but it takes more than 3 hours to do this. I have not been able to recover the rest of the photographs.

We Can Restore Your Images Using Camera Media Recovery

With high quality digital cameras now being available at very cheap prices more and more people are taking advantage of this quick and easy way to take their photos. If you are one of those who uses photos as memories you would likely be devastated if you suddenly found that your camera media was no longer accessible and you knew that you hadn’t transferred the images to your computer. It is no longer the norm to take photos of an event and then print out the ones you want and discard the ones you don’t, instead it is normal to keep potentially hundreds or thousands of photos on a camera memory card such as an SD Card or a Compact Flash Card etc

If you are a professional photographer then your situation could be even worse as you may have the official photos from the biggest event of someone’s life on your camera card so if for some reason it becomes inaccessible it is not your memories that are at stake, it is your business. We have experience in recovering 1000’s of weddings and portrait shoots that photographers might have thought were unrecoverable.

There are many reasons why a camera card may become inaccessible or that the files are no longer available. The card may suffer damage so that it cannot be connected to its usual slot on a card reader or accessed via the camera or it is also possible to accidentally delete the files, card can become corrupted or card can get formatted. There are various physical reasons that can cause problems with a solid state memory card that can range from extreme temperatures to submersion in water. Although the disks themselves are very hardy, the interfaces may be less so.

So, if you do find yourself with a camera card that has valuable photos on it that you are unable to access the first thing that you should do is to give one of our camera media experts a call. They will be able to talk through the problem with you and should be able to give you a diagnosis of the problem over the phone. While accidental deletions are very easy to diagnose, some of the other types of failure may be less obvious. You may have some options available to you to try to retrieve the data from the card yourself, but in order to maximise both the quality and quantity of the data recovered you may wish to send your card to us so that we can recover your data professionally.

We can give you a quote over the phone, so there will be no surprises for either the cost or the length of time the recovery will take. We offer three different services, which only differ in the timescales and costs of the service, there is no difference in the quality of the service. We are so confident in our abilities that we offer a ‘no fix no fee’ policy, so if we are unable to recover the data from your device then we will not charge you. We have 14 years of experience in data recovery and have around a 99% success rate so we are confident that we can recover your data.
