SD cards are advertised as water-proof, temperature proof, X-ray proof, shock proof but can fail requiring data recovery. A SD card that has malfunctioned can be repaired using specialized equipment. But usually only if the flash storage is not physically damaged.
Problems Preventing the Use of your SD Memory Card:
SD Memory Card failure can occur for several reasons. When a memory card has a failure it is recommended to have the card diagnosed by a professional data recovery company. Typical memory cards failures include card not getting recognised in a digital camera or camcorder, card not getting recognised when connected to a computer, card is getting recognised but no files on card, card as formatted by accident, files were deleted by accident, card is physically broke. We have 14 years experience of recovering from damaged memory cards. Below is common card failures we receive in for data recovery:
Physical Damage to your SD Memory Card:
When a card is not getting recognised by your camera, camcorder or any device including a PC or Mac then it will probably have a physical fault. When a memory card has a physical problem the memory chips will need to be unsoldered from the card electronic board and inserted into a specialised chip reader to read the data. We are one of only a few companies within the UK that can unsolder and read the data from these type of memory cards. We have a high recovery success rate.
SD Memory Card Damage Caused by Electronic or Magnetic Interference:
When a memory card has an electronic fault it means the electronic board that stores the memory chips has blown some of the circuits on the board. We have specialised equipment to recover data from the chips on the damaged board. Contact us today to speak to one of our memory card data recovery experts.
Inadvertent Deletion of SD Memory Card Data:
Memory cards often get formatted by mistake either within the device that is used to record the files such as a camera or camcorder or when they are connected to a computer. When this happens the memory card will be blank. We have a recovery solution to get back 100% of your data when this happens.
Your Operating System and its Inability to Recognise your SD Memory Card:
When a memory card is freezing your PC or Mac or making your computer run slowly it normally means it is degrading and is the 1st signs that the card will fail. At this stage it is recommended to copy of your data from the card. If you find yourself in the unlucky situation that you cannot copy the data from the card then contact us today as we can imaged and process all data on card for a 100% recovery.
