Disconnect the mains supply immediately and stop there. Repair tools write to the disk, and placing a reinstall over the top of a failing drive can end your chances of recovery for good. Regardless of the type of problem you encounter, the procedure is always consistent: create a read-only copy of the disk; perform recovery using that copy; return your original disk to you in exactly the condition in which it was received. If an audit or inspection depends on specific files, please name them when making contact and these files will receive priority processing.
