Among them are family photographs going back 10 years, a set of accounts and vat files that two other data recovery companies could not read, and a professional who says he will be recommending us to his own clients. What they have in common
- Not one of them says what the hardware was — no make, no model, not even whether it lived in a machine or on the desk beside one. What they write about instead is the material itself: family photographs, accounts and vat files, work owed to clients. That is a fair reflection of how these calls actually open, and it is why the first question here is what the device was doing rather than what it says on the label.
- Camden, Westminster, Merton, Newham, Hackney, Brent and Bromley — a different London borough on every one, inner and outer, north of the river and south of it, with nobody counted twice. Each parcel travelled by post, which is how everything reaches this bench.
- No score and no calendar — the source published no star rating against any of these and no date either, so neither is shown. A number invented to fill the gap would be the simplest dishonesty available on this page, and the easiest to get away with.
- One had been elsewhere first — a customer in Bromley writes of trying two other data recovery companies in London before this one, and of getting back accounts and vat files neither could read. No other account names a rival.
- What was actually at stake — photographs going back 10 years, belonging to a whole family in Hackney; a set of accounts in Bromley; a professional in Newham who signs off, I will recommend you to all my clients. Fantastic, reassuring and precious are their words, not ours.
Read them closely: two different customers reach for the word yourselves; somebody else types daya where data was meant; another misspells cusomer and informaed within one sentence; another again lists the fast, professional and the regular communication and never straightens it out. Every one of those is left exactly where it was typed, because tidying a customer's sentence turns their account into ours. When your own job finishes you will be asked for the same thing and nothing beyond it: a couple of honest lines, and your borough if you are happy to give it.
