East 15 Acting School keeps rehearsal and performance recordings, showreels, audition tapes and lighting and sound plots, most of it on students' own laptops. The motorway here is the M11. Is an IG10 address in Essex or in London?
Essex, and it surprises people. IG10 is the LOUGHTON post town, in Epping Forest district, in Essex — yet the town lies inside the Greater London Built-up Area, has two Underground stations and takes London buses. Of eleven IG districts only IG7, IG9 and IG10 are Essex at all, and IG7 at Chigwell is cut by the boundary. The price sheet does not read postcodes.

Take the power off it at the socket and stop using it, because every further start-up spends reads that a tired disk may not have left. Then send the drive rather than the computer. Here it goes onto an imager before anything else is tried: the image is read-only, all later work runs against the copy, and your disk returns in the condition it arrived in. Your firm's name never reaches the docket — a case reference does — and at the end you get a listing naming every file that returned and every file that would not.

Usually, and it is a regular arrival from this town. Large media files behave well on an imager provided nothing has been written over them, so stop editing, stop exporting and do not let anything reinstall itself. Media of that size is normally one drive, so £300 + VAT, or £250 + VAT where it is a card. Either way the figure is settled on paper first. Phones and tablets are outside what this laboratory takes, so copy nothing onto one in the meantime.
