Spelling first: a local reader checks it. The borough is Haringey. The district on Green Lanes, with its own station, is Harringay. Haringay is always wrong. Then the shape of the place: the land falls from the ridge at Highgate and Muswell Hill, 130 metres up, east and downhill to the flat ground beside the Lea, and the work changes with it. Both, and everywhere between. The borough runs from Highgate and Muswell Hill on the ridge at 130 metres down to the flat ground beside the Lea, and the work changes as the land drops: Macs and family archives at the top, studios and small manufacturers at the bottom. Either way it makes no difference to a bench, because the drive does the travelling.
