What Hounslow asks first.
TW6 is Heathrow. Is that a Hounslow job?
The airport is within the area covered by the TW6 postcode, which has Hounslow as its post town, but it is actually within the boundaries of the London Borough of Hillingdon, the neatest postcode trap in west London. Either way, it does not matter to you. Hounslow's own postal districts, W4 (Chiswick), TW3 to TW5, TW7 (Isleworth), TW8 (Brentford) and the two areas of Feltham, TW13 and TW14, all post media to the same Guildford intake lab, against the same price list. Drop-off at Guildford is also available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, and no appointment is required.
There is a transmission date. How fast?
You'll be able to say the date when you ring us, and the drive goes on the imager ahead of the general queue, with one engineer on it until completed. Work on file systems is usually finished within two working days after we receive your approval. Mechanical work takes longer, as we need to find matching donor parts first. At least you will know whether the job is file system or mechanical from day one, instead of finding out halfway through.
The work is under an NDA. Is posting it wise?
Yes. On the job sheet there is no client name, only a reference case number. The engineer opens up the files that the recovery needs and does not open anything else. None of this leaves the laboratory and the copies we keep are deleted thirty days after the drive returns. The details are contained in the Privacy Policy.
Anywhere in Chiswick to hand a drive over?
No, and there is nowhere else in London either. However, if you would like to get a quote first you may do so either via telephone or by completing the form, and then send the drive to our Guildford Intake Laboratory via post. If you prefer, you may take the drive directly to the Guildford Intake Laboratory, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm (no appointment needed). In all cases the recovery process occurs in one laboratory, therefore the majority of the time the media will make the journey and you will remain at work while the data recovery is performed. Please post it tracked and insured from W4 or TW7 and generally an engineer will have received it by the next working morning; the postage home is paid by us.
